On Saturday’s (November 6) Meet Cortland County segment:
Alan Ricottilli, deputy superintendent of the City DPW, discussed the neighborhood Leaf Pickup Program, which started today (November 8).
He also gave updates regarding ongoing road work projects in the city.
Crews are laying final pavement on Clinton Avenue — from Pomeroy to Greenbush Streets — and expect to reopen the major traffic artery by next week, capping months of construction.
The long-term reconstruction coincides with the overarching Northeastern Gateway project.
Last year, city DPW was able to repave only one street due to setbacks caused by the pandemic.
Increased state/federal highway funding led to higher productivity in 2021, during which that number grew to 15 road projects.
