Lillian B. Kent, 83, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away following a brief illness on September 8, 2021.
Lillian was born June 24, 1938 in Belmont, NY, a daughter of the late William F. and Margaret Schiller Gooth. She was a 1956 graduate of Valley Stream Central School.
She retired from US Airways, where she worked as a reservation’s agent for many years. Lilly had also been employed at Gallagher Real Estate, Syracuse; Thompson Boat, Estee Lauder and Sperry Rand Corp.
Lilly was a member of the Needlepoint Guild in Syracuse. She traveled extensively throughout North America and abroad and was always up for a trip to the casino, where she was often the only one in the group to win.
Surviving is her sister, Charlotte Altmann of Homer, NY; nephew, Karl Altmann; two nieces, Megan and Alissa Altmann; a great-niece, Hannah Altmann; her loyal and friend of 70 years, Maryann Tinger of Long Island, and her chihuahua, Holly Baby.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several nephews as well as her sister, Joan Buchanan of Ocala, FL, who sadly also passed away on September 8, 2021.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, NY. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Interment in Marathon Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
