At Tuesday’s Homer Board of Trustees meeting, village officials approved new 3-way stop at Copeland and Park Avenues.
Signs will go up as soon as the current paving is complete on Copeland.
Motorists should avoid the road until work completes.
The measure aims to curb an ongoing issue of speeding in the area.
Copeland Avenue — particularly this section — runs adjacent to the Homer High School bus garage.
It often gets used to bypass traffic on Route 281, but drivers often fail to slow down as they enter the posted school zone limit.
